Summer has arrived and with it the kitty lounging season. Our house doesn't have central AC or even window AC units. When it's 87 degrees outside, it's about 95 upstairs. Thus, the kitties flop around in super adorable positions. And I take pictures.
I'll also include a video of Lucia doing what I call "subdue"--that kangaroo-like back feet double push. Freakin' cute.
We had some weird-ass weather today. First it was cloudy, then the sun came out, then it was sleeting (is that a word?), and then more sun, then light snow, more sun, and then a hail storm. I can't remember the last time I've seen real hail. They weren't huge but they certainly made a lot of noise. Have a listen. Fun fact: when I went over to pick up the hail, the wind changed directions and I had tons of hail blown into my hair. It was neat.
And now for some Dinah/Harpo cuddling.
So, I was sitting on Chrissy's bed with Dinah in my lap. Dinah, apparently, was tired of sitting with us and decided to tell me so by swiping my face (very little blood was shed, thankfully). The thing that makes this story worth telling is this: as I was sitting on Chrissy's bed with Dinah, my beautiful and good tempered house-kitty, I was in the middle of telling Chrissy about an article I had read a while back about how Roy's tiger mauling wasn't a mauling at all. Dinah has mastered irony.
Four open flowers, man. Pulchritudinous (I looked that up on dictionary.com--I think it works in this context). The flower photoshoot was surprisingly fun. Now it's time to start preparing for my finals... 'cause that's the responsible thing to do.
The white amaryllis is really starting to open up. The blooming process takes forever but it's pretty freakin' cool. I just hope I'm not allergic to them.
I'm going to leave you with two Dinah pictures 'cause I love my kitty. Hopefully she won't lay on my books again--I'm attempting to write a paper about the role/importance of museums. Six pages by Friday. Reading about museums is surprisingly boring. And Dinah's rhythmic breathing is my kryptonite.
